What better way to unwind from a hard work week than by playing even harder? It was a Friday in May at our Ironhack Campus in Barcelona when Iñaki Díaz, Joan Mora Guiard and Alberto Betella taught us how to. The Campus transformed into a playroom straight out of a kindergarten class, without the kids. We had 3 games through which to rotate: Arkaneon, Droppin’ Santa and Vengan Power, which was the most-voted for game on our Twitter poll. It was a night dedicated to retro games best played with a cold Moritz in your hand. Here’s what our retro gamers had to say:
Giulia: “I love retro games probably because I never played them when I was a kid (video games were forbidden at home!). So I’m now discovering the beauty of simple, vintage games. It’s exciting to see how they can be reinvented through today’s technology, the agglomeration of talent and the strong community that it forms, where people can feel completely involved and are open to share ideas and collaborate while still having a lot of fun.”
Joan: “They bring me back to my first days as a videogame player and the excitement I felt when I found out how many amazing adventures I was going to live.”
Games support and facilitate a form of education that require you to think critically, a higher order skill. Stay tuned for our future events!
